Hello and welcome to my awesome page of awesomeness! In 2013 I decided to try to make the world a better place by supporting a different charity each month. In order to raise awareness and donations for each cause, I pledged to do something crazy, uncomfortable, or downright painful if certain amounts of money were raised. For example, in April my team and I raised over $1000 for the Epilepsy Foundation. As a result, I had to eat Atomic Wings at Quaker Steak & Lube, and get a tattoo of Barney the Purple Dinosaur on my ass.
This year, I’ve decided to focus on one charity in particular, Extra-Life. In a nutshell, Extra-Life is centered on a 24 hour gaming marathon, and all donations go to Children’s Miracle Network and affiliated hospitals. Check out http://www.extra-life.org for the full scoop. And then, if you’re so inclined, donate to my page and help me help out some sick kids… http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donordrive.participant&participantID=89053
This blog is going to track my adventure in trying to put together a badass team of gamers, the crazy things I do for donations, and my epic quest to raise $10,000 by October 25th (game day)! I hope you find it all to be entertaining, educational, and heartwarming. Even if you cannot donate money, maybe you’ll be inspired to go out and make a difference in your own way, which is just as rad. Enjoy!
